Are you a good person?

Most people would say, “Yeah, I think so.”
But let’s be honest for a minute.

Can I ask you a few quick questions?

-Ever told a lie — even a small one?

-Ever taken something that wasn’t yours — even if it was tiny?

-Ever used God’s name like it was just another word?

-Ever had lustful thoughts… or felt hatred toward someone?

If you’re like me and you’ve answered “yes” to any of these, then you’ve sinned against God. And while we might think these are small offenses, to a perfect God, they are serious.

This was hard for me to accept too — it hurt my pride and my ego because I considered myself generally “good” and well-meaning. But this just shows how holy and perfect God is:

There is no one good but God. (Mark 10:18)

Here’s the thing:

When we break God’s law, we’re not just bending a rule — we’re offending the Creator of the universe.
And because He’s perfectly just, He can’t ignore sin or sweep it under the rug.
Every wrong must be paid for.

The Bible puts it plainly:

The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

That’s not just physical death — it’s eternal separation from God in hell.

A sobering reality, isn’t it?

BUT HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS!

God loves you so much,
He made a way for justice to be satisfied AND for you to be forgiven.

He sent His Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life we never could.
Then He took our place,
bearing the punishment we deserve on the cross.

Jesus sacrificed Himself for you —
He paid your fine in full.
That’s why His last words on the cross were, “It is finished.”

He paid the wages of your sin so that YOU could have eternal life in heaven with God.

Isn't that AMAZING?

So you see, there’s nothing you can do to earn your way into heaven.
It’s already been done.

All that’s left for you to do is receive it —
the amazing gift of eternal life.

How?
By believing and trusting in what Jesus did for you.

Trust on Him — put Him on like you would a parachute, knowing your life depends on it… because it does.

If you believe Jesus died for you,
He will forgive every sin,
give you a new heart,
and give you eternal life with Him.
